Mar 31, 2020 · The goal of this post is to use VS Code to deploy, test, and edit a simple Azure Function. Part 1 was a first step toward understanding and using Azure Functions. We created a Function App, added a function to it using the Azure portal, and made some simple tweaks. In this post, it’s time to take the next step. I ended up using Azure Automation to schedule index maintenance in Azure SQL. Found out that Azure Functions can be stopped after 30 minutes (approx.) of execution (strange), and Automation was easy to set up, anyway.
